VSFF Gratitude

The Vancouver Short Film Festival was fantastic! The festival is run by Zlatina, Marena, the board, and an army of tireless volunteers. We were proud (and grateful) to see MENTAL screened within such a compelling, thought-provoking, block of films.

Our weekend included an inspiring filmmaker luncheon, an afternoon of drinks with some of the team who worked on MENTAL, and a startling awards experience (we were not expecting to win anything, given the fantastic lineup).

As ever, one of the most memorable aspects of the festival were the conversations our film fostered surrounding mental health. This remains our greatest feat with this project. It is an honour to be entrusted with people’s stories.

On behalf of our team, (in an albeit, unconventional way) we accepted Raindance Vancouver’s ‘Underdog Award’. For video of our surprised, mad, adrenaline fueled, dash check out Raindance’s instagram post.

We are grateful for the recognition the festival gave our film and to be a part of such diverse, compelling storytelling.
