What's in a Year?

365 Days, 8760 hours, 525,948.75 minutes...

How we spend an instant leads to the next moment and the next one and so on. All our experiences (large and small) build our lifetime, which is what we look back on if we are lucky enough to get old.

So, the question is, what's in a year?

Well, I've been writing full-time with J for that long now and together we have amassed a large body of work while experiencing some pretty huge highs and difficult lows. Looking back I can now recognize how each win and fail are made up of smaller components. How each script has taken changing thoughts into words, to create sentences that end up as paragraphs, that lead to pages that eventually compile a finished product, that we send out into the world on our behalf.

All those moment have meant more and been deeper because I've had a friend, a constant companion, a champion, a shoulder, an empathetic ear, etc. etc. with me. This past year of working with J has been one of the best in my life because each moment has felt like a gift... A gift from all the previous life choices, both the good and the bad.

Looking back I can see how clearly we've earned our career, both separately and together. Each moment, each word, each accomplishment and set-back, we've earned because of all the work we did before. Even before we started working together we were working hard building toward something on our own.

So, to J, and to all of you dear readers, thank you for being with me this past year. It has been exciting, enticing, thrilling, and scary. Here's to another and another and another.

*M, Five hundred twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes... How do you measure a year? Measure in love ... Of which we have tons, for the work and for each other. Happy anniversary friend! - J
